Target Tuesday: Black Powder Edition

50 cal Black Powder

There is so much fun to have out there and marksmanship is one of my favorite activities of all time. I recently had the opportunity to shoot a black powder rifle with open sights under the guidance of an NRA trained instructor and the experience was something I will never forget. Both the my son and I were able to get a couple shots in on separate targets. When compared to a modern rifle, the 50 cal black powder is a solid beast that pounds the shoulder. Personally, I had a bit of a problem with the kick and a couple shots was just enough for me. I couldn’t imagine shooting this rifle all day, versus a modern rifle I have shot 100s of rounds in a single day. Fortunately, my marksmanship was not affected and I pulled off a solid group as you can see in the picture
